Thomas House Center for History

Historical exhibits are put on display inside the lower level of the Thomas House in order to help illustrate exactly how Marshfield residents were affected by major historic events. From the devastating Marshfield fire of 1887, to the hardships endured during the Great Depression, to Marshfield's impact and involvement in the many world wars, history is relived one topic at a time! Home to the "Lest We Forget" Military Exhibit. This exhibit will bring before your eyes the history and stories of those we are indebted to for that freedom. From the Civil War story of Governor Upham and others, to the formation of the Militia and then onward to the Spanish American War and beyond, you will discover the willingness of our men to serve.
