Wisconsin's Northwest Heritage Passage
Welcome to the Wisconsin’s Northwest Heritage Passage (WNHP or the Passage). Here you’ll find information about the arts, crafts, handmade & homegrown products, studios, galleries, museums, theaters, heritage sites, inns, and eateries in 13 northwest Wisconsin counties from the Great River to the Great Lake. The Passage founders believed that people interested in arts and crafts would enjoy learning more about how the products are created and would like to meet the people who create them. They believed the same customers would be interested in a more direct connection to food growers, so niche agriculture was included. Thus the subtitle, “Handmade & Homegrown.” Therefore, the phrase “An Invitation to Journey from the Great River to the Great Lake” was added. Passage volunteers worked to assemble a data base of high interest destinations which were published as full color “Handmade & Homegrown” maps featuring artists, artisans, crafters, growers and heritage sites.
