A 552-acre shore fen and open bog with sand spit, lagoon, springs and wetlands along a bay between two rocky headlands of the Lake Superior coast.

From Herbster go east 3.5 miles on Hwy. 13, then north on Bark Bay Road 0.5 miles to a boat landing and parking lot on the east side of the road. The best access to the sand spit and bog is by canoe.
