Langlade County’s Wolf River drops 430 feet over 28 miles, making it one of the fastest-flowing rivers in the Midwest.

Details

Across the top of Forest and Florence Counties, the Brule is a boundary river between Wisconsin and Michigan. It is characterized by long stretches of slow water and low hazard rapids. Numerous streams flow into the river. Access is available at county and forest service roads. NOTE: below Brule River Dam and at the junction where the Michigamme joins the Brule to become the Menominee, the rapid increase in current combined with huge waves can potentially swamp an open craft.
