A full acre of Italian marble was used for the floors of the Milwaukee Art Museum’s Calatrava-designed addition.

Details

Tour five historic buildings that were moved to the village for preservation. Included is a Triangle School (1857) whose last class graduated in 1948, an Octagon House constructed around 1867, Chicago & North Western Railroad Depot (1923), a Chapel, and a Log Cabin from about 1850. Many have original or period furnishings. Examine rail equipment that includes a locomotive, boxcar, and cabooses, or browse a collection of railroad artifacts and memorabilia. Hosts an annual 'Heritage Days & Rail Fest' that includes historic demonstrations, crafts, food, music, and a buck-skinners’ encampment.

Open on the first and third Sunday’s from June thru August. Hours are 1pm-4pm. Free admission--donations appreciated. Group tours or appointments can be made by calling (920) 982-8557 or (920) 982-5186. (Rail stock not disabled accessible).
