From its old flap-seated desks to a properly attired school marm prepared to hear the daily recitations of reading, 'riting and 'rithmetic, visitors will see an authentically restored and appointed 1876 school and classroom and, with a call in advance, those in a group can play the role of students, experiencing the rules, regulations and curriculum of the time.The other room in the schoolhouse is a captivating educational museum that features a variety of nostalgic exhibits, artifacts and pertinent school memorabilia. Adjacent to the building is the new Longfellow Elementary School, which helps accent the changes education has undergone.
