Langlade County's Veteran's Memorial Park located on beautiful Jack lake. Jack Lake is a pristine, crystal clear, spring-fed lake surrounded by hundreds of acres of county owned forest rich with recreational opportunities and wildlife. The park and campground are situated on the lake's west and south shore. The Campground is open from May 1st - Dec 1st and consists of 48 individual campsites with electrical hook-up. Sites are booked on a first-come-first-serve basis. Pets are allowed in the campground on a leash. Amenities include firewood sales, ice sales, boat rentals, picnic tables, fire rings, playground equipment, volleyball and basketball courts, horseshoe pits, a pay phone. One handicap accessible camping site and a handicap accessible fishing pier and beach. Three group sites available for reservation. Primitive Hike-In/Boat-In Campsites- These are for the more rugged camper. Water Activities- Jack Lake's clean, clear water and its "no motors" designation make it ideal for swimming and canoeing. Jack Lake is also a great place to wet a line. Fishermen enjoy excellent populations of bass, trout and panfish. Remember: the operation of outboard motors is prohibited; however, electric motors are legal. Hiking/Biking- Outdoor enthusiasts will find many miles of scenic trails to explore which are easily accessible from Veteran's Memorial Park. The Langlade County Arboretum joins with the nature trail and hosts a variety of native plants for easy viewing. Also, the Wisconsin Ice Age Trail weaves along the park boundary. Bikers can ride on the Game Lake Nature Trail or explore the countless forest roads. Trails and single track trails specifically for mountain bikers are being developed. Shelters- The Park has three shelters marked A, B and C. The shelters are available for reservation for private parties. No pets are allowed in the park area. Winter Activities- The park is a trailhead for snowmobiling with access to over 530 miles of groomed trails. Ample parking is available. The Game Lake Nature Trail serves as a challenging snowshoe trail. The Jack Lake Cross Country Ski Trail is a groomed trail and has a series of six loops with more being developed. Disabled AccessHours of OperationWith the exception of registered campers, no person shall be allowed in the park between the hours of 10pm and 7am. Campers must be checked-out by 1pm the following day.
