Discover the fascinating history of Wisconsin’s capital city in the architecture and historic places of the isthmus, State Street, and historic neighborhoods. The Madison Trust for Historic Preservation offers six walking tours and one bike tour. Walking tours last a little over an hour. The bike tour is just over 2 hours. No reservations are required, simply show up at each tour’s designated starting point. Our interactive tours are given by experienced and enthusiastic docents, and each concludes with a free treat at a local restaurant. Docents are ready rain or shine.
