Octagon House and the Historic District



Details

Built in 1855, this unique eight-sided house was home to Judge John Moffat who came to Hudson from New York. The building now is owned by the St. Croix County Historical Society and is maintained as a museum complex (including the gardens and carriage house), and furnished with artifacts and antiques from early life in the St. Croix Valley. Open May through October and special holiday tours. Adults $7.00; Students (13 to 18) $3.00; Children (6 to 12) $2.00; and Children 5 and younger free with an adult. St. Croix County Historical Society Members receive a 10% discount on Museum Gift Shop items. Tours are available on a walk-in basis, however, reservations are required for groups of ten or more. Special tours may be arranged for groups of twenty-five or more. These special tours can included an elegant afternoon tea, a tour of the Phipps Center for the Arts and /or a Hudson City tour.

Directions from Nearest Town/Intersection

From I-94: Exit #1 north on Hwy 35 through downtown Hudson. Two blocks after the third stoplight, turn right onto Myrtle Street. The Octagon House is located on the Northesat corner of Myrtle and Third Streets (1004 Third Street).

Hours of Operation

Open May through October. Tour Hours: Wednesday - Saturday 12-4:30pm and Sunday 2-4:30pm
