Details

A state-designated wild river, the Popple is a river of contrasts as it flows out of the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest to meet the Pine River near Jennings Falls in Florence County. The Popple is characterized by long stretches of still water interrupted by short, exciting rapids. Best water levels occur in the spring and early summer.
