Details

The original frontier town of Springstead authentically restored, offering unique lodging. The site has touched three cultures: Native American, French Canadian fur trappers and European settlers.The Springstead Historic Lodging House is open all year. Now a Wisconsin Heritage Site, seasonal tours are offered about the Chippewa Indians who came here to collect maple sap, the French fur trappers in the 1860s, the loggers of the 1870s, and the historic downtown built when Springstead was established in 1914.
