Wisconsin's entire Hwy. 10 corridor lies along the route of the Yellowstone Trail, proposed in 1912 as America's first trans-continental highway across the northern part of the country. The Yellowstone Trail traversed 18 Wisconsin counties, covering a total of 406 miles. Work in Wisconsin began in 1915. Today, you can retrace the trail's route and view buildings in existence at the time of the trail's heyday. Guides are available from the Waupaca chamber.
