Northern Highland American Legion State Forest - Boulder Junction

This entry was posted in State Parks & Forests

Northern Highland/American Legion State Forest is the quintessential outdoor Northwoods experience. Bike, hike, camp, fish, kayak, canoe, hunt—the list goes on. You can follow the bike path around Crystal Lake and Trout Lake and to nearby Cathedral Point, one of many beautiful hiking paths through 120-foot-tall white pines to where the lower and upper parts of Trout Lake connect. Crystal Lake is a favorite spot for snorkeling. Northern Highland/American Legion has a variety of options for camping, and the forest is also home to one of the largest Bald Eagle nesting concentrations in the world.
