Smith Rapids Covered Bridge over the South Fork of the Flambeau River
Open year-round. Located on the South Fork of the Flambeau River (smallmouth bass, rock bass, catfish, black suckers, red horse, walleye, northern pike, musky); 11 rustic campsites with fire grills and picnic tables; fee required; all campsites can be reserved; tents, trailers, and RVs up to 45+; 9 campsites are equestrian-friendly with hitching rails and extra-long parking spurs to accommodate horse trailers; drinking water – hand pump, vault toilets, open-air picnic shelter (can be reserved) with picnic tables and grill; carry-in boat access, river & stream fishing, access to the Smith Rapids Covered Bridge and Smith Rapids River Saddle Trail (hike/equestrian). Directions
Travel east from Fifield, on State Highway 70 for 12.5 miles and turn left (north) on Forest Road 148 for 2 miles.
