The trails were in good "early season" condition prior to the warm temps on Sunday. With not having much base, the warm temps and heavy traffic over the weekend, this will give the groomer a challenge to get the trails back in shape. Riders can expect poor trail conditions with icy trails and some bare spots. We will update as the trails are groomed. Snowmobile only trails, atv's & utv's are not allowed at anytime. RANGER CITY RIDERS Snowmobile only trails in the Amberg-Beecher-Wausaukee area. No updated report for 2/9/16. Some Marinette County trails are open for snowmobiles, some remain closed at this time; however, most of the ATV-UTV trails are open and will remain open until the spring. Not all snowmobile trails allow atv's. The clubs that have open atv-utv trails at this time are: Dun-Good Riders (northwest part of county), Near North (Athelstane area), Pemenee (northeast part of county) and Iron Snow Shoe west of Crivitz. Check with individual clubs for more info or visit marinettecosnowtrails.com for links to the clubs. Located in far Northeastern Wisconsin (about 90 miles north of Green Bay), Marinette County is home to 495 miles of funded snowmobile trails maintained by 7 county clubs. Being one of the largest counties in Wisconsin means conditions can vary greatly from one end of the county to the other. We suggest you visit www.marinettecosnowtrails.com on a regular basis for more information on each county club. The link to www.therealnorth.com will provide you with additional information about the area that will be helpful when planning your visit to our trail system. www.therealnorth.com

Cross Country Snowmobile Club report 2/4/2016 We received 4" to 5" of new snow out of the 6” to 10" that was forecasted, but every little bit helps. This will help us rebuild after last weekend’s melt down. All of our groomers were out last night manly panning to help build our base back up, and there are some light snows in the forecast for the upcoming days along with some colder temps. Most of Cross Country Cruisers trails are in GOOD condition. Everything north of Hwy 70 in Vilas co is in good condition to some areas very good. The 47 trail in Oneida county is in good condition, the 70 trail in town is fair. The Bearskin is in good condition. You will find thin snow conditions in and around town but conditions do improve once you travel a mile or two out. We will be grooming nightly through the weekend and with some more light snows I expect things to improve. All of our neighboring clubs are doing the same thing so I expect some pretty good riding conditions for the weekend. As always ride right ride safe!! Steve Wolfe www.minocqua.org

Townsend - Red Arrow Trails - Trails took a beating yesterday with the warm weather and the heavy traffic. We groomed everything again last night and have a mixed report. The level terrain is holding up much better than the hilly trails. The hilly trails have rocks starting to pop through so watch out for them as well as icy corners . We were able to level off the flat trails but need more snow to fill in all the holes in the hill country. Lakewood - Paul Bunyan Trails - The trails took a big hit on Saturday with the heavy traffic and warm temperature. Trail boss Jack Bailey stated after the groomers got done early Sunday morning they are smooth and in pretty good shape. We need snow to bring them back to great condition. We will be out grooming throughout the week. Chute Pond Trails - Chute Pond trails are open, and we are grooming on a regular basis. Our trails are in good riding condition. Grooming operations will be ongoing, so please remember to watch out for the groomers. If you come across one on the trail, stop and wait for the driver to signal that it's safe to pass by. The trails will stay in nice shape a lot longer if you don't "ride it like you stole it"- especially in the corners. Please take it easy- and leave some snow on the trail for the next guy. Bagley & Brazeau Trails - 2/3/2016 Seven to 10” of snow has groomed up very well on Wednesday. Groomers will also be out on Thursday. The drivers said that the trails are in very good condition. One area that will not be groomed, this week, is the trail just west of Peshtigo Brook Fire Rd., This trail is west of White Potato Lake area going north or south on the marsh trail because of wet conditions. If more snowmobiles ride this trail, we may be able to groom this trail soon. Gillett Trails - Trails are open. Oconto Falls Sno Jokers Trails - Trails are open. Lena Snow Drifters Trails - Trails are open. Please respect private land. Chase Sno-Chasers Trails - Trails are open. www.ocontocounty.org

We keep getting these 1″ snowfalls that at least help cover the snirty areas. Any little bit helps. We continue to groom the trails to pack down the available snow. Due to the minimal snow base, there is a range to the conditions. Forest roads are in good shape. The swampy areas that have more of an uneven trail bed are poor/fair, because there just isn’t enough snow to fill all the holes. Overall, you sure can go out and ride, but they are not in mid-season form at this point. Due to the low snow conditions, please don’t be tempted and go off the marked trail. It is imperative that we keep our landowners happy. This is especially important in crossing the fields – stay on the marked trails and don’t cut the corners. Sno-Eagles TRAILS IN Fair with some Good CONDITION Busy weekend of riding with heavy traffic Icy, icy underneath-Slow down All 3 groomers out last night. As grooming continues. They took sections that were really well ridden over the weekend and took extra time on them. There are parts of the system that were not completed because of this extra work. Will continue again tonight. Cold is back until at least Saturday night. That is good. More snow too. Looks to be Lake Effect for now. Superior is freezing over but not completely. If it does our Lake Effect from the north will end. Once in a while we do get Lake Effect off of Lake Michigan. This requires a reverse low which doesn't happen often. Safety note. Please take the time to stop at Stop signs on the trails. Receiving many reports of riders not even slowing up at Trail and Road crossings. And stay on the marked trails. Riding non trail roads can be dangerous plus off trail riding causes lose of trails on private lands. Come On Man! February 7, 2016 - Trails are now closing due to the Sunday warmup. 40 degrees plus sunshine will not be good and clubs want you off the trails to preserve the base. New snow plus cold is coming in a few days. Calling the hotline to check opening and closings before riding is mandatory during changing weather conditions. Each club makes their own decisions about closing - call first. Follow the hotline for opening and closings before you ride. Trail passes are now required on ALL SLEDS - even Wisconsin registered ones. Trail passes are $10 when sled in registered in Wisconsin and the owner is a club member with AWSC membership. Wisconsin registered sleds of non-club members pay $30. Non-Wisconsin sleds pay $50. ------ To join a club and get a discounted trail pass, see the Green Lake County Club Page (linked just above this report at VIEW WEBSITE) ------- full price passes can be purchased at the BP gas station in Princeton. Several trails have been moved - most notably the one in and out of Big Green Lake. Make sure to follow trail markers because the quickest way to get a trail closed is by riding out of the markers. Support your local club by becoming a member, donate a few hours over the year by helping with trails and fundraisers. And if you can't do that, please buy a few extra raffle tickets, stop at the brat fry's, or donate directly to the groomer funds each club has. Thank you. USE THE HOTLINE BEFORE RIDING TO MAKE SURE TRAILS ARE OPEN - recorded message at 920-294-3220 TRESPASSING HAS BECOME A PROBLEM - Please stay on the trails - While you may not think you are causing any problems - riding outside the marked trails will only destroy club and landowner relations . When landowners get upset they say NO TRAIL THROUGH HERE ANYMORE! And then where will you ride? So use your head and stay on the trails. Please join a club to help support the great trail system these clubs provide. PLEASE -STAY ON TRAILS - NO TRESPASSING greenlakecountysnowmobiletrails.com
