Waterfall Snowmobile Tour
Marinette County is famous for its woods and its waters. Covering more than 900,000 acres, it is one of Wisconsin's largest counties. With more than 400 miles of snowmobile trails, it is well known for its premier wilderness riding experience. Lumbered to near-extinction in the last half of the nineteenth century, Marinette County's pine and hardwood forests have rebounded. Today, they showcase a dozen waterfalls and cataracts on the rivers that once carried saw logs to mills in Marinette. Located in a series of charming county parks scattered throughout the county, the waterfalls are jewels that sparkle along the Peshtigo, the Thunder and the Pembonwon Rivers. Cloaked in crystal and white, they are as beautiful in winter as on any summer day.
