Blue Mounds gets its name from the hills of this driftless region in southwest Wisconsin. Discover Cave of the Mounds, a National Natural Landmark. Open year round, Cave of the Mounds is a good place for kids of all ages. Nearby, Blue Mounds State Park has hiking trails and a lookout tower visitors can climb where Madison can be seen on a clear day. Little Norway is a historic site featuring an 1850s-era Norwegian pioneer farmstead and a "Stavekirke" (a wooden church) originally built for Chicago’s 1893 Columbian Exposition.
