Round Lake Logging Dam
Originally constructed in 1878, then completely restored in 1995, the Round Lake Dam is typical of the type of dam built by loggers in the early 1900s. The dam is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is the only dam of its kind remaining in Wisconsin. Embark on a journey through time and explore history by hiking the Round Lake Logging Dam Interpretive Trail, a 1/2 mile with a compacted gravel surface and a 3-7% grade. You can also hike the nearby Round Lake Trail, a 9.3-mile hardwood- and hemlock-lined forest trail of medium difficulty.
