Wisconsin sizzles with plenty of hot new events to check out this summer. Whether you have a taste for delicious food and drink or want to kick up your heels to live music, we’ve got all sorts of ideas for you to cut loose. Have a look at some fresh new ways to enjoy the sunny season around the state.

Bloody Mary Festival

When it comes to creative cocktails, Wisconsin is second to none. That’s why it makes sense for Milwaukee to host its first-ever Bloody Mary Festival. Celebrate the beloved beverage along with local food and drinks, live music and more. Cast your vote for the People’s Choice award and see who the industry judges select as the Best Bloody Mary in Wisconsin, all benefitting Hunger Task Force.

608 Day

Celebrate Greater Madison’s 608 area code all day long on June 8. Dive into events like Beer, Bacon and Cheese Fest in New Glarus, Marquette Waterfront Festival and Madison Burger Week. Score a deal with special offers like $6.08 terrace tickets to watch the Madison Mallards play ball. Or get $6.08 off the price of tickets to the Sugar Maple Music Festival or a tasty tour with Madison Food Explorers. Neighboring cities Beloit, Middleton, Sun Prairie and more will also join the 608 fun.

Red Cedar Film Festival

Discovering talented new voices through independent cinema is a film buff’s dream. Adding the excitement of juried awards in categories such as features, shorts, documentaries and animation is icing on the cake. That’s the inspiration behind the First Annual Red Cedar Film Festival.

With the goal of expanding the art of film, this fest takes place in beautiful and historic venues like the gorgeous Mabel Tainter Center for the Arts in vibrant downtown Menomonie. Festivities include an opening gala, live screenings, awards social, closing brunch and talks with the filmmakers.

Tall Ships

If you’ve never seen the majestic sailing vessels known as Tall Ships, you owe it to yourself to visit Kenosha this summer to view them. Schooners, brigantines, brigs and barques are thrilling to see one at a time, but when several of them gather together on the water it’s unforgettable.

These impressive ships head to Kenosha harbor for a “Parade of Sail” then dock so you can climb aboard and explore. The celebration includes live entertainment and plenty to eat and drink.

Woofstock Music Festival

What could be better than peace, love and music? Adding dogs! The Humane Society of Southern Wisconsin’s First Annual Woofstock Music Festival brings it all together in Beloit. Live music, food trucks and a beer garden provide the perfect excuse to surround yourself with four-legged friends. Bring your own well-behaved pooch or find your new best friend among the adoptable dogs there to greet you. We hear there will be adoptable kittens too!

Folk & Smoke Music Festival

Wisconsin’s beautiful Driftless Region is the perfect backdrop for this unique event combining live folk music and delicious barbecue. Music workshops and jam sessions give you a chance to play as well as listen to top performers.

Smokin’ local food and drinks will energize you and the lovingly restored barn built by Frank Lloyd Wright’s cousin will mellow you out. Set amid acres of farm and prairie, this special venue will make you feel like you’ve really found a sanctuary.
