Take advantage of the fenced dog park, or guest pets can run free away from resort buildings if they’re willing to make friends with the resident husky and llamas. There’s no weight limit, and owners pay a small daily pet fee for suites and cabin rentals.

Hotel Indigo – Madison

Hotel Indigo in downtown Madison puts you and your pooch in the heart of Wisconsin’s capital city. Be sure to snap some selfies together in front of the colorful murals that showcase the historical architecture of this recently converted building. Get some fresh air by taking your pup for a short stroll to the Capitol Square and enjoying the sights (and smells!) of Madison. Up to two dogs are allowed per room, with one flat pet fee for stays under seven nights.

The Iron Horse Hotel – Milwaukee

If you're staying in Milwaukee, The Iron Horse Hotel is a century-old converted warehouse offering modern lofts that are biker-, business trip-, and even bow-wow-friendly. Canines large and small will get their own in-room pet bed, bowls, gourmet treats in a pint glass and more with the impressive Big Dog Special.

Your pup’s name will be displayed on the lobby’s welcome chalkboard, and the hotel provides dog owners with a list of suggested parks and restaurants. An overnight charge covers your pet’s stay.

For a simpler, no-frills option, try the Arf program at Aloft Milwaukee Downtown. Dogs up to 40 pounds can stay for free!

Country House Resort – Sister Bay 

The owners of the Country House Resort in Sister Bay love dogs so much, they have their own “canine concierge,” Riley the corgi! For a nightly fee, guest dogs and their owners will get in-room food and water dishes and a bed upon request, along with a welcome basket of towels, furniture covers, waste bags, an all-natural treat and local dog-friendly listings.

An outside dog wash area is a perfect way to clean up after some playtime on the resort’s nature trails and 1,100 feet of private shoreline along Lake Michigan's Green Bay.

Pet-sitting services are the highlight at the Inn on Woodlake, part of the larger American Club Resort. Jefferson Street Inn – Wausau

The Jefferson Street Inn in Wausau offers its own pet-friendly package with a welcome bag of treats and set of pet dishes for your room. The pet fee is conveniently included when you book the package.

The downtown hotel once hosted “Into the Wild” star Jack Hanna and a few of his exotic animals, including a tiger, snake, penguin and flamingo. With the location just a block from Wausau’s Riverwalk and close to parks, you and your pup will have plenty of opportunities for exploring.

Garmisch USA Resort – Cable

Most of the Bavarian-style rental cabins at the Garmisch USA Resort in the Northwoods roll out the welcome mat for dogs. A pet fee is added to your weekly rate, with seasonal stays available between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
