Trail Description

The Moccasin Lake trail oversees two river basins; the Prairie flowing west, and the Hunting flowing east. On the eastern leg, the view overlooks a vast black spruce swamp that extends all the way to and beyond Elcho. The far end offers three fun hills; the Luge, the Expressway, and the Muskellunge. The trail is located just west of Elcho. Amenities include a parking area, restrooms, and Michelle's Lodge. The Moccasin Lake Trail system is maintained by the Elcho X-C Ski Club. Condition Description

Moccasin Lake's Expressway and one of the inner loops were mowed on Saturday, July 5, 2025. These trail sections are good for mountain biking. The rest of the ski trail will be mowed at the end of August or September. The Snowshoe trail has not been mowed. The parking area, the horse trailer area, and by Michelle’s Lodge are being mowed.
