Trail Description
The Gold Star Memorial Trail is a 10-foot wide, paved, non-motorized path that will create a safe, off-road connection between Mayville, Horicon and the Horicon Marsh. The Trail creates a vital route for transportation and recreational opportunities for city and rural residents as well as visitors and tourists. The trail also remembers those who have given their lives serving our country and their families. Honoring a request on behalf of Dodge County Gold Star families, the Trail serves as a memorial to Wisconsin military service members who have been killed in action. Memorials will be placed along the trail to honor and remember local heroes that have made the ultimate sacrifice protecting our country. Since 1991, Dodge County has lost 6 service members from communities that will be linked by the Trail.
