Trail Description
This easy-graded rail trail invites hikers and cyclers in spring, summer and fall, and snowmobilers in winter. This 14.3-mile trail is laid on an abandoned rail bed, and gives riders a chance to enjoy the beauty of 250-foot river bluffs without having to ride over them. It gives access to the restored Railroad Depot at the corner of Seminary Street and Orange Street (US Hwy 14). The trail runs from Richland Center to Lone Rock with the first 2 miles of the trail asphalt, the rest is crushed gravel screenings and can be quite soft in wet/spring conditions.
Condition Description
The Pine River Recreation Trail is in great condition. Recent maintenance and additional base that was added has paid off and even though we had recent rains it is ready to explore. There is one spot of loose gravel at County Hwy O as you first enter the trail from the City's paved area but that is for a short 200 yard stretch and it is firm after all of the way.
