Trail Description
This 40-mile rails-to-trail connects Dodgeville and Madison (paved from Verona into Madison). The trail also connects to the Shake Rag Trail in Dodgeville, and to the Capital City and the Badger State Trails in Fitchburg. Seasonal Trailside restrooms & water in downtown Verona, Mt Horeb & Barneveld. State Trail Pass required.
Condition Description
A 1.25-mile section of the Military Ridge Trail from Epic Lane to Wildcat Way in Verona will be temporarily closed through July 31, 2025 for construction. Throughout the season, please use caution after weather events and consider refraining from using the trail if leaving ruts in the surface, as deep footprints and bike tire ruts can impact the long-term smoothness of the trail.
