Thanks for checking out my newest blog, everyone! It's great to be back in 2014, I hope everyone's year is off to a great start. Before we get into this month's topics, I wanted to thank the fans for their incredible support this season. It was a tough way to end the season, but seeing a sold-out Lambeau Field, regardless of the weather conditions, really made me proud to be a Packer. I'm confident we will come back and have a great season next year!
While I'm disappointed that the season ended without a Super Bowl ring, I have enjoyed spending more time with my wife Emily and my son Royal. When I'm not at home, Emily and I enjoy venturing out and trying different restaurants in the area. We really enjoy visiting The Bottle Room in Green Bay. If you're looking for a place with a great menu and entertainment, then this is the spot. They usually feature some type of live music and it really adds to the experience. We'll take the drive down to Wild Truffle in Appleton if we're in the mood for Italian. I haven't found an item on their menu that I don't like, but I'll usually order some type of pizza. It’s really cool how they use ingredients from Wisconsin family farms. During the season, we like to order pizza from Rustique after home games; it has turned into a post-game tradition for us to decompress together. Living in Wisconsin has opened up new doors when it comes to food. Besides your brats and cheese curds, Emily and I have tried booyah and we really like it. It’s a Wisconsin tradition and I hear the best booyah comes from Green Bay... though I haven’t tried others and I may be a little biased.
I'm really looking forward to enjoying what both Wisconsin and Green Bay have to offer in the offseason. We will have family visit throughout the offseason, which I enjoy because I have some free time to hang out with everyone. Once it warms up, I'll be hitting the golf course with my brother. I enjoy a number of courses in Wisconsin: Thornberry, Royal St. Patrick, Whistling Straits and many others all over the state and I can’t wait to hit the links with him. Green Bay has a lot to offer for kids as well. Royal will be excited to feed the animals at the NEW Zoo and I hear they also have a new Adventure Park opening up next door that I’m sure he will love. He also likes the swings at Pamperin Park. Emily and I will also take Royal to Sir Bounce A Lot’s, Kidz Town and the Children's Museum, which are all great places for kids to run around and burn off some energy. We usually end up taking our friends and family to Lambeau Field. Everyone enjoys the history of the team and the stadium so we will take them through the Hall of Fame or on a Stadium tour. Yes, even players take this tour!
That's all I've got for this month's blog, I hope you enjoyed reading. But most of all, I hope you check out some of my favorite spots in Wisconsin and see what this great state has to offer!
