Green Bay or Bust: Enjoying the Packers Preseason

The arrival of August means that many Green Bay Packers fans can’t wait for the season to begin. Before another Super Bowl run officially (ahem) kicks off September 9, Packer fans head to Planet Lambeau in the preseason to tailgate, paint faces, compare cheese hats and cheer on their favorite team. If you’re in town to watch the August 30 showdown with Kansas City, there’s plenty more for you and your pack to take in. For a well-rounded preseason experience, Packer Fan Tours, the team’s official outpost, offers packages that include tailgate parties, tours of the grounds, hotel accommodations and, of course, tickets to big games.

Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary

A pilgrimage to Green Bay isn’t complete without a visit to the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame, located at Lambeau Field. Get up close with the team’s championship trophies, and take a self-guided tour.

And because Green Bay boasts much more than football, take the kids for a play-date at the brand new Children’s Museum of Green Bay. Check out greenery of a different sort at the Green Bay Botanical Garden, where you can experience cusp-of-autumn perennials, and stroll through the 700-acre Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary to watch live animals.

We know you’re excited. And who can blame you? Go Pack Go!
