Camp New Wood County Park is located 10 miles northwest of Merrill along the Wisconsin River on scenic State Highway 107. Camp New Wood is on the site of a Civilian Conservation Corps camp that was active in the 1930's. The park is approximately 16 acres with 7 primitive camp sites. Campsites are not reservable. Camping fees are $20.00 per night. Two open shelters, both being reservable, are available. Camp New Wood has playground equipment, a picnic area, boat landing on the Wisconsin River, grills, shelters, hiking trails, water pump and toilets.
