This is the only area on Crex where camping is allowed. Tents can be set up on the lawn, and camping vehicles may be parked in the corners of the parking lots. The cost is $5 per night, and campers must register and pay the fee at the Visitor Center within 24 hours of setting up. There are no designated sites; space is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations are not available. Camping is permitted at the rest area from September 1 through December 31.
