The Smith Rapids Recreation Area, located in the Park Falls District, features a campground with 10 sites along the South Fork of the Flambeau River. It serves as an ideal destination for hiking, river fishing, horseback riding, and canoeing. Seven of the campsites (sites 5-11) are specifically designed to accommodate horse trailers, offering extra-long parking spurs, hitching rails, picnic tables, and fire grills. It is conveniently located just 15 minutes east of Fifield and is pet-friendly, although some restrictions apply.
