About Baraboo River
This popular river for kayaking is challenging in some spots and a bit more leisurely in others. At times, the Baraboo River is slow with areas of shallow rapids, but high water levels can cause a swift current and should not be paddled by anyone other than experienced paddlers. It is important to be alert to changing conditions and aware that the current can be quite strong. Some sections are Class I rapids in the Baraboo city limits area.
