A popular area for beginners. Lake canoeing is available on any of the 22 connecting lakes in the Chain 'O Lakes. The lakes are structured in a way that some lakes are "fast lakes" while others are slow, no-wake lakes. The Chain's fast lakes are Rainbow Lake, Round Lake, Long Lake and Columbia Lake. These lakes are great for water skiing, wakeboarding and tubing. The "Upper Chain," is a group of five smaller, slow no-wake lakes only reachable by kayak or canoe with access from Beasley Creek. For family fun, rent a fiberglass canoe from area outfitters and enjoy a ride down the Crystal River. The nearby Waupaca River flows gently past farms to its junction with the Wolf River just north of Partridge Lake.
