Rock River National Riverway
The Rock River Water Trail is the first Wisconsin waterway that has been designated as part of the U.S. Department of the Interior’s National Water Trails System. In order to receive this distinction, the trail must meet criteria for national recreations as well as management practices. This beautiful water trail begins in the headwaters above the Horicon Marsh in Fond du Lac and continues to its confluence with the Mississippi River in Illinois. Along this route, outdoor recreation lovers are connected to communities offering access sites and great dining, recreation, and other attractions as resting points for those taking a journey down the scenic water trail.
