Kettlebowl Recreation Area

A sunny winter day at Kettlebowl Ski Hill with visitors gathered outside the cozy chalet-style lodge, enjoying a break from skiing. The lodge’s natural wood exterior and large windows provide a warm, inviting atmosphere amidst the snowy landscape.
Kettlebowl Ski Hill’s roadside sign welcomes visitors to the “Family Fun Area” with a cheerful message to “Think Snow.” Surrounded by snow-covered trees, it marks the turn to one of Langlade County’s winter gems.
Kettlebowl Ski Hill has been dedicated to Ben and Ruth Mundl for running the hill for 40 years.

Trail signage marks the entrance to the Kettlebowl Cross Country Ski Trail, providing skiers with a map and clear guidance for exploring Langlade County’s beautifully groomed forest trails.

Kettlebowl Ski Hill is open from noon until 4 PM on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the winter provided the weather cooperates and volunteers are available. The chalet is open weekends when the Kettlebowl Ski Hill is open. The cross country ski trails are open even when Kettlebowl Ski Hill is not open. Park by the gate at the main entrance when locked.

Kettlebowl Recreation Area encompasses the Kettlebowl Winter Park and the trailhead for the Track 52 dog-sledding and skijorring trail.

Kettlebowl Ski Hill relies on naturally made snow for their 5 runs with tow ropes to downhill ski or snowboard and 4.3 miles of cross-country skiing trail.  Snowboards are very popular and welcome. All runs are intermediate with a bunny/beginners hill.

The hill will be open from noon to 4 pm on Saturdays and Sundays when adequate snowfall is received. Facilities include a parking area, restrooms, and chalet with concessions when open. 

When open, rental equipment (skis and snowboards) is available. Antigo Ski brings a large trailer out to the hill with the rental skis/boots/snowboards.

Kettlebowl Ski Hill is located approximately 15 miles northeast of Antigo on Hwy 52 or 4 miles SW of the Hwy 52/55 intersection at Lily.

General Information: The hill is solely run by volunteers which keeps the cost of having outdoor fun affordable. RATES are $5 for Adults - $3 Students (ages 13 thru High School) - $2 (ages 6-12) - FREE Ages 5 and under.
