About this Event
Exhibit at Monroe Arts Center - Rebecca Gavney Driscoll: Animal Antics.
Rebecca Gavney Driscoll is a native of Janesville, WI but spent much of her childhood in Beloit Township before returning to Janesville.
Rebecca had her first “solo” art show in second grade. She went to Beloit Turner High school and graduated in 1979. After high school, she earned an Associate of Art degree through the UW system. She has been illustrating for thirty plus years and has enjoyed developing her skills through various projects. She has also illustrated four children’s books (three picture books and one chapter book) and an extensive variety of greeting cards.
She is now working on her own card line which comprises intricate designs of trees and flowers, reflecting her love of nature. She’s also experimenting with cards that ‘tell a story’ with a painted scene on the outside of a card, and a deeper interior ‘peek’ within that scene on the inside. Her favorite medium is watercolor. Rebecca has been to numerous art shows and has received awards for “Best of Show”, “Judge’s Choice award” and 2nd place in Horicon Art on the Marsh.
