The subject matter of many of my paintings will be flowers in a natural setting, as well as midwestern landscapes. Recent work explores vibrant, contrasting colors designed to create a visual experience for the viewer. Early career classical figurative realism has been replaced by landscape paintings and still-life painting, but my techniques remain true to classical realism. I have been producing realistic paintings for almost forty years while incorporating design elements influenced by modern abstract and non-objective painting. Influences include contemporary artists Sydney Goodman and Eric Fischl.
