Paint Cedarburg: a Plein Air Painting Event & Exhibit

Cedarburg Artists Guild will host the annual Paint Cedarburg event, with over 160 artists roaming our charming city and picturesque countryside painting live before your very eyes. Paint Cedarburg is nationally recognized as the largest gathering of artists in Wisconsin. It spans a week of live painting, events, and challenges, and ends with a public art sale at the Cedarburg Cultural Center of the "fresh" works of art that you can purchase and take home that day.

Plein Air, a French term meaning “in the open air,” describes art works painted outside with the subject directly in view rather than in a studio. Plein air artists capture the spirit and essence of a landscape or subject by incorporating natural light, color, and movement into their works. Artists flock to Cedarburg to capture the beauty of this historic town and rolling, farm-specked countryside. Art enthusiasts can enjoy an opportunity to spend time with the artist as they work.
