About this Event
With the backdrop of the Milwaukee skyline, the Dragon Boat Festival will buzz with the energy of colorfully decorated
42-foot-long dragon boats and over 1,000 racers and thousands of spectators. The festival's focal point is the dragon
boat races, where 50 teams of 20 paddlers, a drummer, and a steerer navigate colorful, dragon-headed boats through
the water with synchronized strokes, striving for speed and precision.
This year, the dragon boat teams, cultural performances and food vendors will be lining the shore on the west side of the inlet, at Henry Maier Festival Park.
In addition to the races, the festival offers a variety of Chinese cultural performances, food vendors, a Beer
Garden, a Kids Zone, and activities for all ages. The performances kick off at 10:00 a.m. featuring the colorful Dragon
Dance, with traditional folk dances and music providing entertainment throughout the day.
