Paintings by the Spanish masters Francisco de Zurbarán (1598–1664) and Bartolomé Esteban Murillo (1617–1682) were avidly collected in the United States throughout the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Take a look at what made them so popular among American collectors, dealers, artists, and museums with Akemi Luisa Herráez Vossbrink, Center for Spain in America (CSA) Curatorial Fellow at the Meadows Museum, in Dallas.

This lecture is held in conjunction with the exhibition Americans in Spain: Painting and Travel, 1820–1920.
