Monona Indigenous Roots Dinner is a ticketed fundraiser for Ho-Chunk cultural initiatives, put on by Discover Monona, Aldo Leopold Nature Center, and presented by a generous sponsorship from Ho-Chunk Nation.

The evening will begin with a statue unveiling, honoring Ho-Chunk people - past, present, and future, in its permanent location at Aldo Leopold Nature Center.  This east-facing statue will be the first in The Four Directions Projects, with additional statues to follow in future years in locations throughout the area.

Guests will be invited into the nature center for a multicourse meal prepared with traditional ingredients by Chef Lighting The Earth New Rider.  Honored guests from local government, Ho-Chunk nation officials and elders, will be invited to speak and say a prayer.

Ho-Chunk artists will be joining with drumming, singing, and dancing.

Proceeds from the dinner and the silent auction will be used towards future Ho-Chunk cultural programming and cultural revitalization initiatives.
