Wisconsin offers so many ways to enjoy the beautiful outdoors and natural resources. To promote the fantastic recreational opportunities that can be found right here in Wisconsin, a number of special events offering free participation and no registration will take place the first full weekend in June. This is the perfect weekend to try new outdoor activities or return to one you haven't tried in a long time. Challenge yourself and try them all!
The following outdoor activities are free for Wisconsin residents and visitors alike!
Free entry to state parks and forests (Camping fees are not waived. Per person admission fees at Heritage Hill State Park are not waived.)
Free fishing, free DNR trails, free ATV/UTV riding on public trails open to such uses or access to all DNR-owned and managed trails for activities ranging from bicycling to horseback riding on state trails.
Free Fishing Weekend: which allows fishing anywhere in Wisconsin, including inland waters as well as Wisconsin’s side of the Mississippi River and Great lakes, without a trout stamp or license. Several parks are sponsoring free fishing activities, along with other special events. At more than 50 state parks there will be free fishing equipment for loan.
