The deep roots of this trio were formed in the mid-70's on the West Bank of Minneapolis, MN. Price and Ja Vue began as a duo playing violin - guitar swing and old jazz tunes in the style of Stephan Grapelli - Django Reinhart and Joe Venuti - Eddie Lang. After a couple of years, Yata joined the group and they developed a distinctive style of original jazz and folk music. After recording a vinyl LP in 1981, they received "Best Folk Band", Price "Best Violinist" along with nominations in Jazz and Vocals by the Minnesota Music Awards. Each musician maintains an active performing and recording career in their respective locations (Minneapolis, River Falls and Pepin County) but they reunite to expand their sound in new directions blending jazz, celtic, folk, Latin and classical stylings while mixing melody with romantic, modern and metaphysical poetry.
