Taiko means “drum” in Japanese and One World Taiko is a professional Japanese drum ensemble that captivates audiences of all ages with its heart-pounding beats, dynamic movement, and rhythmic grooves. One World Taiko’s music is drawn from Japan’s tradition of lively festival drumming.  Gary Tsujimoto and Nancy Ozaki bring their own creative rhythms, arrangements and choreography, and energetic spirit to the ancient art of Taiko. One World Taiko performs on drums ranging from the large odaiko, 4 feet by 2.5 feet, to the shimedaiko, the size of a snare drum. Their performances feature traditional and original compositions interwoven with descriptions of the drums and other instruments and the history of Taiko. During a lively interactive section on how to play, audience members are invited up to play the Taiko drums. Admission: Adults $10, Seniors $9, Youth $5, Family (2 adults, 2 youth) $25 “Gary and Nancy are outstanding! Not only did they perform incredibly, but they took time to involve the audience and taught as they went along.”  Tim Havican, Medford, WI
