In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Sphinx Organization, the exciting program Concerti per Venti offers a collection of concerti through the ages, performed by the 18-piece, self-conducted Sphinx Virtuosi, America’s only all Black-Latino string orchestra. From the Baroque to modern day, the program showcases a tremendous variety in languages and styles. Repertoire will include the newly commissioned "Guardian of the Horizon: Concerto Grosso for Violin, Cello, and Strings" by award-winning composer Jimmy Lopez, "Delights and Dances" for string quartet and string orchestra by Michael Abels, Beethoven’s timeless "Grosse Fugue," and "Concerto Grosso" by Vaughan Williams.
