About this Event
The Ozaukee County Historical Society is presenting its WWII Event on May 16th, 9am-4pm with the Public Preview Day May 15, 9am-3pm. We are excited to have a wonderful day of encampment, exhibits and battles and an evening dance/concert. Here is a little preview of what folks will see:
The year is 1941 and WWII is beginning. Living historians representing countries from all over the world will be on hand to display what life was like for the young soldiers. Tents, gear, uniforms and keepsakes from yesteryears will be on display. Our vehicle parade and displays will allow attendees to get up close and see the machinery used during the war. See, hear, and feel weapons used during battles. On the Homefront, see what civilian life was like and hear how those at home supported their loved ones overseas. Special tribute bomb crews who risked their lives in the air and late tested the atomic bomb, newsprint coverage of the war, and women's roles during the war. Stay for the day and have lunch in our mess hall. General admission is $10 and includes a wristband for the dance.
Milwaukee's own Command Performance will put on the show in the evening with a USO-Style dance! It should be a memorable night of music and dancing. Admission to the dance is only $5, so come and "cut a rug" with us at the USO-style swing dance.
