About Moccasin Bar
As you enter Hayward, you can't miss this mint green bar on the corner of Hwy 63, the Moccasin Bar, a classic. It has a fun Northwoods atmosphere with a nostalgic taxidermy twist of furry creatures and fish lining the walls preserved behind glass. The Moccasin is considered a small wildlife museum and features a replica of the trophy musky that was caught by "Cal Johnson" on July 14, 1949 on Lake Lac Courte Oreilles. Hayward has become famous for record Musky Fishing, so this bar is a must-see attraction when visiting Hayward. The bar has friendly staff and authentic quirky wildlife displays that gives it a special ambiance. It's an attraction for visitors and a favorite bar for locals, because of the number of absurdly complex stuffed animal dioramas on display.
