From mid-April through mid-November, the farmers’ market lines the grounds of the Wisconsin State Capitol—affectionately referred to as The Square. At the largest producers-only market in the Midwest, visitors will find an abundance of fresh produce, meats, cheeses, pastries and breads—most famously, Stella’s hot and spicy cheese bread, an irresistible snack as you make your way from stall to stall. Just outside of Madison in the city of Dane is J. Henry & Sons, a bourbon distillery born on the farm of the Henry family.
