Trail Description

The park has four main trails. The Doughboy Trail is a 1-mile path along the gorgeous Bad and Tyler Forks Rivers, with a series of falls, accessed by the pavilion. The Red Granite Trail offers 1- and 2.5-mile options, starting at the beach parking lot and leading to Red Granite Falls on the Bad River through mature hardwood forests. The Vahterra Trail is a 2-mile route with rolling terrain through mature hardwoods, accessed by the ball field parking lot. You might even spot a beaver by the pond! The Takesson Trail is 2.4 miles and starts off the pipeline trail, following a hemlock-hardwood ridge with views of the Bad River.

Condition Description

Condition descriptions for this trail are currently informed by the DNR Property Condition Notices map. When no alerts are active, trails are rated in fair condition. Throughout the season, please use caution after weather events and consider refraining from using the trail if leaving ruts in the surface, as deep footprints and bike tire ruts can impact the long-term smoothness of the trail.
