Lumberjack Special Steam Train & Camp Five Museum Complex

Ride the rails of yesteryear aboard the "Lumberjack Special" steam train to the site of the original Connor Lumber and Land Company's 1902 logging camp #5. Enjoy a unique mix of history, steam railroading, logging, and ecology at the Camp Five Complex. See logging artifacts, an active blacksmith shop, and a video about old-time logging operations. Enjoy guided tours of the forest in a motorized surrey, a 1900 country store gift shop, a nature center and farm corral.

Open June-Oct 1: Mon-Sat, 11am-4pm. Train rides at 11am, noon, 1 & 2 pm.


From Madison: Take I-90/I-94/I-39 Northbound toward Wisconsin Dells. Merge onto I-39 Northbound via exit 108 toward Wausau. Continue on US-51 North at the end of I-39 N. Take exit 234 and turn right onto US-8 toward Crandon. The Depot is on the left hand side of US-8 just before you reach Laona.
