Kickapoo Valley Reserve Trails
Kickapoo Valley Reserve has an extensive system of natural surface trails for equestrians, bikers, and hikers. The equestrian and mountain bike trails are open from May 1 through November 15, as weather permits. Hiking is permitted year-round on all trails.
Old Highway 131 Trail has been designated a National Recreation Trail by the US Department of Interior. In addition, Bridge 13 on Old Highway 131 Trail has been registered as a historic marker.
The Kickapoo Valley Reserve will temporarily close equestrian and mountain bike trails during and/or after rain events. Check with the Reserve office if you are unsure of trail conditions or visit the KVR Facebook page for current trail status. The Old Highway 131 Trail and Star Valley Trail will remain open for equestrian and bike use during wet conditions (even if other trails are closed). Day or annual permits are required for use of the trails. Permits can be purchased on the KVR official website.
