Just east of Kettle Moraine Drive, the New Fane Area in the Kettle Moraine State Forest–Northern Unit is an outdoor playground for hikers, bikers, and winter adventurers alike.

With four loops of mountain bike trails (5.5 miles) crisscrossing four scenic hiking loops (7.7 miles), there’s a trail for every mood and skill level. A short connector even links hikers to the famous Ice Age Trail for added exploration. To keep things safe and fun, trails are use-specific: bikers stick to the bike loops and hikers enjoy their own paths.

Amenities like an open-air, reservable shelter, year-round drinking water, and vault toilets make it easy to stay and play. Come winter, the hiking loops transform into ungroomed ski trails while the bike loops welcome snowshoeing and winter hikes.

Whether on wheels, skis, or boots, New Fane is your year-round ticket to adventure.
